Introduction to this privacy notice

Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC (“WHG”) is concerned about privacy issues and wants you to be familiar with how we collect, disclose or use (“Process“) your data. This privacy notice (“Privacy Notice“) describes our practices in connection with data we collect through our websites (“Websites“), social media pages we manage (“Social Media Pages“) and software applications we make available for your use via computers and mobile devices (“Applications “), which include a link to this Privacy Notice, and through any of our offline activities, such as when you provide your information to us by telephone through our call centers or in person (“Offline Activities“) (collectively, including the Websites, the Applications, the Social Networking Pages and the Offline Activities (“Services“).

This Privacy Notice does not apply to hotels operated by franchisees (independently owned and managed hotels) of WHG or its affiliates, but does apply to hotels that are managed by WHG or an affiliate of WHG (“Hotels”), but are not owned by WHG. For example, Hotels may use e-mail and other marketing communications methods to communicate with their guests and are solely responsible for these campaigns. Please read each Hotel’s privacy notice to understand how your Personal Data will be handled.

Our privacy practices may vary among the countries in which we operate to reflect local practices and legal requirements, so our practices may be more limited in such jurisdictions.

What data are collected and how are they collected?

1- We may collect “Personal Data” (i.e., data that identifies or refers to you as an identifiable subject), such as the following:

  • Cookies: Our Services may use “cookies” and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”). Cookies are small text files that this Website sends to your computer for record-keeping purposes and this data is stored in a file on your computer’s hard drive.   • Pixel tags, web beacons: We and third-party ad servers may use invisible pixels or beacons on this Web Site to count how many users visit certain pages.   • From other sources: We may receive your Personal Data from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, data companies, social media platforms, people who are friends of yours or otherwise connected to social media platforms, as well as from third parties. For example, if you choose to connect a social network account to your account on the Website, certain Personal Data from your social network account will be shared with us, which may include Personal Data that is part of your public profile or the public profiles of your friends.
  • Mobile Devices: When you use or access our Services from a mobile device, we may collect data, such as your unique device identifier and location. If you download and use an App, we and our service providers may track and collect App usage data, such as the date and time the App accesses our servers from your device and the information and files downloaded to the App from your device number, as well as any other Personal Data specified in the App terms or notices.
  • Do Not Track” signals: At this time, we do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as we are waiting for interested parties, among others, to develop standards for interpreting such signals. Third parties, including our service providers, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, including when you visit our Website.   • Internet-based advertising: We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads about goods and services that may be of interest to you when you access and use our Services and other websites, other applications or other online services, based on information regarding your access to and use of our Services and other websites, other applications and other services on any of your devices, as well as information received from third parties. When we disclose your information

We may disclose your information as described below:

  • Affiliates: any other entity that is, at the time of disclosure of your Personal Data, directly or indirectly under our control or under common control with us (“Affiliates“) for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including as set forth in “Why and How We Use Your Data,” unless prohibited by applicable law.   • Distributors and Service Providers: We may disclose your information to distributors and service providers engaged by us in connection with our business, such as travel service companies, financial service companies, homeowners’ associations, vacation insurance companies, web site hosting, data analysis, payment processing, order fulfillment, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, e-mail delivery, credit card processing, tax and financial advisors, legal counsel, accountants or audit services.
  • Business Partners, Sponsors and Other Third Parties: We may disclose your Personal Information to business partners, promotional co-sponsors and other third parties in order to provide you with services that may be of interest to you. For example, we may share your Personal Information with owners and operators of affiliated and unaffiliated hotels and resorts, airlines, car rental services, retail stores, credit bureaus and other third parties to facilitate reservations, provide products or services to you, or in connection with our loyalty program or the loyalty program of one of our partners. We may also co-sponsor promotions, contests or other events with a third party and may share your Personal Information in connection with these events. In addition, we may share your Personal Data with third party vendors that are physically located at hotels or resorts, such as restaurant, timeshare, spa, golf and concierge providers. If you provide additional information to any of these third parties, such information will be subject to the privacy practices of such third parties.
  • Third Parties: Subject to your marketing preferences (which may include consent to marketing under applicable law), we may license, sell, or otherwise share your Personal Information with selected third parties for compensation for their own business purposes. Such third parties may include timesharing organizations. Once we share your Personal Information with such third parties for such purposes, the information shared is subject to the privacy practices of the third parties.
  • Discussion Forums: We may make reviews, discussion forums, blogs and other user-generated content services available to users. Any information that is disclosed in these areas will become public information, so you should always exercise caution when deciding to disclose your Personal Data. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other users, including operators of websites to which you provide information.
  • Merger or Acquisition: We may disclose your Personal Data to a third party that acquires any part of our business or the business of any of our Affiliates, whether such acquisition is by merger, consolidation, divestiture, spin-off or purchase of all or substantially all of our assets.
  • Disclosures Permitted by Law: We may disclose your Personal Information to law enforcement authorities, public or governmental bodies or agencies, regulators or any other person or entity that has legal authority or adequate justification to receive your information, if we are required or authorized to do so by law or legal process, to respond to claims, or to protect the rights, interests, privacy, property or safety of us, our Affiliates, you or other third parties.

How do we safeguard your information?

  • Security of your data: We will take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide to us against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. Unfortunately, no security system is foolproof, so we cannot guarantee the security of all data you provide to us through the Services.

  • Information provided on behalf of another person: If you provide us with information about another person, please ensure that you have that person’s permission to do so, for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice.
  • Links to Websites: The Services may link to other sites that we do not manage. We have no control over how these sites may collect your data and no responsibility or liability for the practices, policies and security measures implemented by these websites.   • Social Media Sites: Please note that we are not responsible for the information collection, use and disclosure policies and practices (including data security) of other organizations, such as Facebook, Apple, Google, Microsoft, RIM or any other application developer, application provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including any Personal Data you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Applications or our Social Media Pages.
  • Changes to our Privacy Notice: We may, from time to time, change this Privacy Notice or use Personal Information for new and unanticipated uses not previously disclosed to accommodate changes in the regulatory or business environment, or to meet the needs of our customers and service providers. Updated and dated versions will be posted on the Services. Unless required by applicable law (e.g., obtaining your consent to relevant material changes), the revised Privacy Notice will be effective immediately upon posting.
  • Children: We do not knowingly collect, maintain or use Personal Information from or in connection with anyone under the age of 18, and no part of our Websites, Social Media Pages or Apps is directed to anyone under the age of 18. If we incidentally collect or maintain Personal Data from persons under 18 years of age, you may request deletion of such data.
